Content Writer

What will you be doing?

You will work on writing content for a range of clients across a variety of industries. This includes writing copy for blog posts, website pages, and print media. You may also work on writing audit and strategy documents for clients requiring content marketing research and/or suggestions.

You will ideally have experience in content writing in a website capacity, as well as excellent communication skills to liaise directly with clients regarding marketing performance and planning. You should have very strong writing skills and an eye for detail.

Your Responsibilities

• Work within the digital marketing team to develop and implement content strategies for clients.
• Perform keyword and trends research to guide written content.
• Perform relevant topic research to guide written content.
• Write creative and engaging copy that works towards client goals and is in-line with approved content plans.
• Proofread and edit content for other members of the digital marketing team when required.
• Maintain and optimise website content to improve KPIs.
• Research and analyse client competitors to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Be proactive to spot opportunities and make recommendations to improve existing website content.
• Monitor, report and analyse relevant website analytics, and report back to the client on a regular basis.
• Manage client relationships, with strong communication in regard to project briefs, ideas and feedback.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry news and trends, including search engine updates.

Skills & essential criteria required

• Content writing experience in a similar role, with experience working on both promotional and supplementary content.
• Excellent writing and language skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt tone-of-voice in written work to suit different brand personas.
• Experience writing SEO-optimised copy for websites.
• Experience using CMS platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, and Joomla!
• Ability to develop strategies to meet client KPIs and goals
• Ability to spot issues and make suggestions on how to improve content performance.
• Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and work on multiple projects.

Desirable criteria

• Experience in building client relationships.
• Experience in tender and contract writing
• Experience in on-page SEO.
• Prior experience working in an agency.
• Marketing Degree (or equivalent) is welcomed but not required with relevant experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
