A Vibrant and Exciting Website for an Agency With a Flair for Design

The Bannermen approached Rank Your Domain needing a complete redesign and rebuild of their existing WordPress website.

SEO was their top priority, but the site also needed to showcase their portfolio of adverts, with a design that reflected the high standard of work they produce.

Their old site was falling behind their competitors, with an outdated design that didn’t showcase the awesome animation work they are creating. They were putting a lot of effort into their SEO strategy and whilst getting results, were displeased with how achieving this was having a negative impact on the design of the site and the user experience, particularly the overcrowded navigation. The old site was also performing poorly on page speed tests and they wanted to improve on this score without sacrificing design or content.

The Bannermen approached Rank Your Domain with a strong brief and a clear idea of what they wanted to achieve. This helped us to move quickly into the wireframing stage, putting together a series of mockups that detailed the different page templates and content. It was here that we had to begin to think about page structure and how easy this would be to edit in the WordPress CMS.

After signing off the wireframes, we created both desktop and mobile designs to ensure a succinct user experience across all device sizes. We had great fun playing with colours and typography to create a series of bright, impactful designs that are memorable and showcase the great work that The Bannermen create. We worked closely with them during this phase of the project, ensuring that they were completely involved in the progression of these designs and were happy with the outcome.

The build was the most challenging aspect of this project. Creating a site that was so visually appealing but could also be easily edited and loaded as quickly as possible was no mean feat! Wanting to stick with their current CMS, we built a WordPress website using wpBakery and a custom theme, to create a site that is really easy for them to maintain even with the complexity of their content and their animated banner adverts.

Having just launched their site, The Bannermen have been really pleased with the outcome and we're looking forward to working with them again in the future.
